World Water-Tech Gathers International Water Industry Leaders in Toronto

SOWC attended World Water-Tech North America in Toronto, Ontario on October 29th and 30th. The global conference, held for the first time in North America, provided a platform for the international water community to come together and share game-changing ideas for the ever-evolving water industry.

“World Water-Tech provided SOWC an opportunity to establish and strengthen relationships with local, regional and global water companies,” said Brenda Lucas, SOWC Operations manager, after the event. “We were excited to play a role supporting the conference, which provided insights into Ontario’s water industry, and helped showcase Ontario as a leader in water solutions.”

During the two-day conference corporate investors, venture capital investors, utilities, engineering consultancies and technology companies came together to identify new technologies and approaches to address global water demand. Evelyn Allen, SOWC Industry Liaison, acted as a member of the summit Expert Advisory Board during the planning stages of the conference, while Brenda Lucas acted as a moderator for the keynote session International Utilities Present their Top Three Challenges.

“Influential members of the water industry brought global perspectives to the conversation about challenges for international utilities including how technology companies can partner with utilities to develop innovative water solutions” said Lucas.

The conference focused heavily on opportunities for networking and sharing ideas. Panel discussions were interspersed with roundtable groups and 1-1 meetings to maximize the opportunities for delegates to meet and harness relationships with stakeholders from across the industry. This created a unique and intimate atmosphere throughout the two-days for the 167 people from 118 organizations who attended.
